SAFETY UPDATE – 9 a.m., Sept. 13, 2024

We have NOT received any active or credible threats to any DPISD campuses.  We have NOT been notified by police or any other authorities about specific threats to ANY of our schools.

We continue to receive calls and emails from parents about rumors of threats. Every report is investigated by the District in cooperation with law enforcement.  We are also in contact with neighboring school districts, and they are experiencing the same situation. In fact, it appears to be happening across the state and nation.

If we receive a credible threat, we will share information with the parents of the affected campuses, which is our normal procedure regarding threats.

We have also received questions about police cars at the high school campuses. We have a police officer at every school, and we have multiple officers at the high schools. Thus, it is perfectly normal to see 2-4 police cars at North Campus and South Campus.

We have every precaution in place to keep our students and staff safe, and we will remain diligent.

Thank you.
