Limited Open Enrollment

Students at Deepwater Elementary, 2003Parents of children who live outside Deer Park ISD boundaries will soon have another chance to enroll their children in selected DPISD schools as the district extends its successful Limited Open Enrollment program. From April 28-May 16, the district will accept applications for enrollment from non-resident students.

Space will be available at all grade levels in the district. However, all grade levels may not be available at every campus. All schools except Deer Park Junior High, Wolters Accelerated High School, and the Early Childhood Center will have selected spaces available for LOE students.

Applications are available at each DPISD campus and this website [see below] and must be returned in person to Deputy Superintendent for Administration Don Dean's office at the district Administration Building, located at 203 Ivy Avenue in Deer Park. Each application must be dropped off by the parent or guardian named on the application form. Applications may not be mailed.

Applications will be evaluated by a small panel of district administrators and approved by the campus principal. Students whose application is approved will be eligible to attend DPISD schools for the 2008-09 school year and beyond.

In June, parents will receive notification of whether or not their child's application has been accepted. Parents of students who enroll through the LOE program are also responsible for transporting their children to and from school.
