Welcome to the Deer Park High School Orchestra Website

The Deer Park High School Orchestra is known as the Official Orchestra of the Battleship Texas. We regularly perform for Texian Navy Day and at the San Jacinto Day Reenactment held on the site of this historical revolutionary battle as well as many other community performances throughout the year.
This year, the orchestra performed as the pit orchestra for the DPHS Theatre presentation of “Beauty and the Beast." The production opened the third week of school. We had 19 students qualify for All-Region orchestra. Chamber, Symphony and Maroon orchestras received sweepstakes at the 2017 UIL concert and Sight-Reading Contest and the Philharmonic orchestra received a superior rating on stage and an excellent in sight-reading.

  • Senior Wills and Remembrances

All seniors are encouraged to participate in this tradition!

Type up and submit to mgomen@dpisd.org no later than next Wednesday, May 17.

Wills and remembrances are a great way to pass on your legacy and affections to those you are leaving behind as you move into “the real world.” The idea is that you, the senior, leave fictional items to the underclassmen. For example, Gomen left her harp bench to a sophomore harpist at her high school. Now, she didn’t actually give her the bench, but it was a symbol of passing the spirit of the harp section on to someone she cared about.  Remembrances are memories and stories that you shared with some. For example, “remember the time that Mr. Law (fill in the blank)” or “remember the time we played that cool spring concert.” Some people have even written it as I leave so and so the memory of (fill in the blank).

Have fun, be creative. The format is less important than the material. Just make sure to keep it school appropriate and get it to Ms. Gomen in time so that she can print them in time for the banquet.
