JP Dabbs Elementary

We Enter To Learn, Leave To Achieve

What are the school hours? The building will open and we will begin serving breakfast at 7:15. Students will be considered tardy if they are not in their classroom when the bell rings at 7:45. Dismissal will begin at 2:45 and last until 3:00. All students should be picked up prior to 3:00.
Where do I drop off or pick up my child? Please drop off and pick up all students on the side parking lots. The front of the building is reserved for buses and daycare vehicles.

What is the schedule for bus transportation? Deer Park ISD provides bus transportation to and from school as a service for eligible students residing in the district. Eligible students are defined by district policy as those children living at least 1.5 miles from the school they should attend. During the first week of school, students should arrive about 10 minutes early at the designated bus stop closest to their home. Click here to view bus routes and estimated pick-up times.

What do I do if my child will be going home a different way than usual? If your child will be going home a different way after school, please send a note to your child's teacher. Also, please notify the Day Care if your child will not be attending that day.

Can I visit my child's school?
Dabbs Elementary is proud to have an "open door" policy for visitiors and parents. We want parents to feel welcome and valued when they visit Dabbs. As a safety measure however, district policy requires all visitors to check in at the front office. Visitors must present a picture I.D. so that a visitor's badge can be issued before being allowed in other areas in the building. For the safety of our staff and students, we ask all visitors to wear their badge in a visibly on their clothing for the entirety of their visit.

Can I use the three recycling bins outside of Dabbs Elementary?
Dabbs The three recycling containers located in our parking lot generate money for Dabbs each month based on the number of pounds collected. Bring: old newspaper, books, magazines, etc. and help us earn money for our school.
