We will be having a Veteran’s Day Assembly at DWJH on Thursday, November 8th at 9 am. The 7th & 8th grade choir will be singing. Wear Choir T-shirt and jeans for this performance. Parents and guests are invited. Hope to see you there.

Deepwater Junior High put on a choir performance last night, Thursday, October 18th. The concert was wonderful. The students behaved very well but were a little talkatvie. They sounded beautifully. It was very obvious that they practiced until it was perfect.
Although things went well, they’re always some things that need improvement. The students and audience members were talkative. But, we know the students are very sorry for their mistake. The choirs need to work on getting softer and singing a little quieter.
Parents were amazed at how well the students performed. Some parents claimed the students sounded like a CD recording. How Wonderful!
My personal favorite part of the concert was when the pupils performaed the Latin song, “Ubi Caritas”. It was beautiful and well rehearsed.
Over all, the concert was a huge success.

It’s time to turn in Choir uniforms. 10 points are taken off daily. Bring them tomorrow for an 80. We check in uniforms after each concert.

The Choir Fund Raiser will be in on Wednesday. Students will be getting their Fund Raiser during our Choir class time or they may come in after school to pick it up. You may need to make arrangements for pick-up if your child has a large order. They may call home if needed from the choir room on that day. Thank you to all that participated in the fund raiser. This will help with our Spring trip as well as uniforms and other supplies that are needed during the year.
Choir T-shirts have been delivered and passed out. Please ask your child if he/she has paid for their choir t-shirt. Names should be on the due list if they have not been paid. Please have these paid by Friday so that your students can recieve their report card. T-shirts are $10. Checks must be made out to DWJH. Please include your TDL.
Region Choir is for 7th & 8th graders wishing to audition for a spot in a Region choir for South East Houston area choir students. DWJH has registered 17 choir students to compete. Here are the dates for Region Choir.
Thursday, October 11th Audition CD’s will be sent home
Monday , October 15th Mock Audition at BJH 4-8pm Students will sign up for a 5 minute time
Saturday , October 20th Region Auditions at N. Shore MIddle School meet @ DWJH @ 6:45. We will take a sub to NSMS. We will call when we are finished (approximately 1pm)
Friday, November 2nd Region Rehearsal at DPHS South PAC 5-9pm
Saturday, November 3rd Region Rehearsal 8am-4pm
Saturday, November 3rd Concert 5pm
