Writing News!
Wednesday, October 24th, 2007We are really starting to write a lot. Ask your student about “showing” not telling. It’s how we describe feelings, etc. by using examples instead of the stating the emotion. For example, instead of writing ” I was tired”, we’ve learned how to write “my legs shook like leaves in the tree after I ran 16 laps in P.E.” To really impress your student, ask them to use an omonatopeia word in their description. This is a word that sounds like what it is. The tiny kitten mewed for its mama. Ding, ding, ding went Mrs. Stone’s timer. We are having tons of fun with these! We have so many wonderful authors! See you soon! Mrs. Stone
