Back from Winter Games!

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

Wow!    What a great time we had in San Antonio at the Winter Games.    Our bowlers brought home 2 gold medals and a bronze medal,  our skill player received a gold medal, our unified volleyball team received a bronze medal and our other volleyball team brought home the gold!    It was a busy weekend.     Our athletes enjoyed the games as well as shopping at the mall and eating out.     We may have packed on a few extra pounds but we enjoyed every minute of it.     It was a  trip spent with family and friends making great memories!

Volleyball Classifications

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

Congratulations to both teams!   Our Deer Park Servers lost their first game to Klein White but came back strong to win their second game against Goose Creek Pumas.     They were rewarded with a bronze medal.     The Attack team won their first match against the Pasadena Comets by winning the first 2 games.     However, the next match proved to be a little more difficult.    It took 3 games to decide the winner in the match with the Goose Creek Bobcats.    Deer Park Attack won the first game.     However the next game was a tough one.    Attack ended up losing it by a score of 28-26.    The third game was another close game but again Goose Creek came out on top.     Attack ended up winning the silver medal.      Both teams will be going for the gold in the next tournament in 2 weeks.

Practice, Tuesday, Oct. 23

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Today I went by the bowling alley to take pictures of our bowlers.    We have 5 very good bowlers.     Everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves and bowling up a storm!      Our bowlers are Brendan, Berto, Krystal, Jorge and Nick.    Don’t forget to check out the pictures in the gallery to see our bowlers.

Our volleyball teams played the PALS tonight.     We always enjoy having them come out to play us every year.    They are a great bunch of kids and really make us step up our game.    However, they did beat us but the games were very close.   Hopefully they will give us a rematch soon.  A big thank you also to our partners on the unified team.    We are so glad you are taking the time to be part of our team.

Thursday, Oct. 18

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

We missed a few of our athletes tonight at practice.    Chris, Michael and Lisa were in College Station playing softball.   We were happy, though, that a couple of new players came out tonight to practice with us.    Thanks for coming Jamie and Brooke.    We sure hope you will come back.    At the end of practice we recognized Ryan, our Athlete of the Year with a collage of pictures taken at the Houston Area Banquet.    One thing we did forget though was to sing Happy Birthday to Coach Burgess.    She will be celebrating her birthday on Saturday.    Ok everyone, don’t forget we are going to sing to her at Tuesday’s practice.     So, we will see everyone Tuesday!     The Deer Park Pals are going to be there to scrimmage us.       One more thing, during skills practice Derek served 10 in a row.    Way to go Derek!
