We will be working hard in the coming months to get ready for 2nd grade! Please help your child by reading every night. Here are some things you can say if your child gets stuck on a word:
-Think about the story
-Start the word
-Look for a word part you know
-Say the word slowly
Please let me know if your child struggles with books they are bringing home. We have read them in class at least twice and they should be working on their fluency with you! (I tell them that fluency means it sounds like they are talking or reading like a teacher reads).
