Take a Peek at the Week:

Language/Social Studies : Yeehaw! Are you ready to rodeo? We are going to kick off the week reading a story called Armadilly Chili. This story puts a Texas-spin on The Little Red Hen tale. In addition to reading numerous stories related to Texas, we will identify and explain various symbols and landmarks in Texas.

Math: This week we will use data to describe events as more likely or less likely. We will also use the data to construct picture graphs and bar graphs.

Science: We will spend the week identifying and exploring the six simple machines:

Take a Peek at the Week:

Language/Science : Can you imagine not being able to turn on a light, watch T.V., or use the microwave? Thanks to various inventors we are able to enjoy these luxuries. This week we will read various books about historic figures, such as Benjamin Franklin, who have helped shape America with his or her inventiveness. During stations each student will research an inventor that he or she finds most interesting. Each student will also write about his or her own invention.

Math: This week we will continue to model the subtraction of two-digit numbers with objects, pictures, words, and numbers. We will subtract two-digit and three-digit numbers with and without regrouping.
